The Casino Control Commission, established in 1977 as the state's Gaming Control Board, operates under the purview of the Casino Control Act. Its primary responsibility involves the licensing of casinos situated in Atlantic City. Beyond casino licensing, the commission extends its jurisdiction to granting licenses for casino key employees and handling appeals arising from decisions made by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. In New Jersey, the A2578 legislation empowers land-based casinos to collaborate with iGaming providers and operators under the supervision of the online casino regulator. For initiation, land-based casinos need to allocate $100,000 to cover the application expenses. Once sanctioned by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission, an additional gaming license fee of $400,000 becomes mandatory. Moreover, there's a renewal fee of $250,000, with an extra $250,000 directed toward state compulsive gambling treatment programs. iGaming operators are subjected to a 15% tax on their gross receipts and 22.5% of Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) remitted to the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA).
