Hard Rock Casino Rockford Opens Its Doors in Illinois

JB Pritzker and our local delegation — Sen. Steve Stadelman, Sen. Dave Syverson, and Rep. Maurice West — were instrumental in making this dream a reality.”

The new Hard Rock Casino, located at 7801 E State St., is a sprawling 175,000-square-foot facility that offers a variety of amenities designed to attract both locals and visitors. The gaming floor features 1,300 slot machines and 50 live table games, providing a world-class gaming experience. Additionally, the venue includes a Hard Rock Live concert space, a Hard Rock Cafe, a sportsbook, and six restaurants, making it a comprehensive entertainment destination.

The opening of the permanent casino also coincided with the launch of Hard Rock’s sports betting app, Hard Rock Bet, on August 25. This move positions Hard Rock as a significant player in Illinois’ growing sports betting market, expanding its footprint beyond physical gaming into the digital realm.

The casino’s opening comes at a time when Illinois’ gaming industry is showing mixed financial results. In July 2024, the state’s casino revenues were slightly down by 1.8% from the previous month, totaling $135.8 million. However, on an annual basis, there was a modest growth of 1.9%, with total revenue reaching $2.6 billion. Hard Rock Casino Rockford contributed $5.9 million in July, reflecting a slight monthly increase of 1.9%.

This opening marks a significant milestone for both Hard Rock and the city of Rockford, setting the stage for continued growth and development.
