New Jersey Online Casinos Come Close to Record Win in 2024

New Jersey, August 19, 2024 — Online casinos in New Jersey reported impressive performance in July 2024, narrowly missing the state’s single-month win record. According to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE), the 29 online casinos collectively earned more than $195.4 million from players last month, marking it as the second-highest monthly total in state history.

The July 2024 total fell just short of March 2024's record of $197.2 million, missing the peak by less than a percentage point. This figure represents a significant year-over-year increase, with July 2024’s win up by 25.9% compared to July 2023.

This strong showing continues a trend of robust performance in New Jersey’s online gaming sector, with each of the past five months ranking among the top five highest win totals in the state’s history. The industry’s current momentum follows a record-setting fiscal year, setting a positive tone for the new term.

 

Notable Brand Performances

In July, 10 of the 29 online casinos reported their best monthly win totals since the NJDGE began tracking individual operators in March 2024. DraftKings Casino led the market with nearly $41.7 million in wins, though its April performance remains its peak over the past five months. Hard Rock Casino also achieved a milestone, surpassing $10 million in win for the first time during this period.

While individual brand rankings vary, the key takeaway is the overall stability and growth of the sector. Resorts Casino and Stardust Casino emerged as the most consistent performers from March through July 2024. Resorts Casino’s July win was approximately $66,000 above its five-month average, while Stardust Casino’s total was nearly $69,000 below its average.

Conversely, some brands experienced significant fluctuations. BetMGM Casino, Fanatics Casino, and Golden Nugget online casino all saw notable positive deviations from their five-month averages in July. For example, BetMGM’s win in July was more than $2.1 million above its average for the previous five months.
